Marjorie “Margie” Lou Cornwell, 84, of Deposit passed away Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Lourdes – Guthrie Hospital in Binghamton.
Margie was born April 15, 1941, in Walton to Albert and Zana Reynolds of Trout Creek. She attended Walton High School until she graduated. Two years after graduation she married Raymond Cornwell of Deposit with whom she shared 43 years of marriage.
Ray and Margie purchased a house in Deposit where they spent 40 plus years together. Raymond passed away July 15, 2006.
Margie was always proud of her flower gardens. She always had a special love of children and helped raise many over the years. She was dedicated to creating a loving home for her family.
She is survived by her two children, Christine “Tina” Cornwell-Strong (Richard) and Raymond Cornwell (Bobbi Jo); grandchildren Timothy Cornwell, Connor Cornwell, and Janai Cornwell; great-grandchildren Payton Cornwell; brothers and sisters Joe Reynolds, Gene Beardslee, Ed Reynolds, Sue Reynolds, and Dawn Reynolds (Colvard); sister-in-law Shirley Reynolds; numerous nieces and nephews who she adored.
She was predeceased by her husband Raymond; parents Albert and Zana (Beardslee) Reynolds; brothers Timothy Reynolds, Richard Reynolds, Glenn Reynolds, sisters-in-law Phylis Reynolds and Joan Beardslee.
A private graveside service will be held in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Deposit, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
