The Cannon Free Library in Delhi will host an Overdose Prevention and Naloxone (NARCAN) Training Workshop Thursday, Dec. 28. A trained facilitator will discuss the signs of an opioid overdose and demonstrate the administration of the opioid overdose reversal drug Naloxone.
Workshop attendees will also learn about the physiology of an overdose, risk factors that contribute to an overdose, and the Good Samaritan Law.
By the end of the training, attendees will be able to recall the necessary steps when encountering and responding to an overdose, be comfortable administering NARCAN, and know some of the aftercare required to save a life.
The program will begin at 5:30 p.m., and last approximately 30 minutes.
