Paddle the Upper Delaware for Less: Annual Family Raft Trip Returns Aug. 2

Posted

NARROWSBURG — Paddlers have until Friday, July 24, to reserve a discounted spot in the Upper Delaware Council’s 38th Annual Family Raft Trip, a summer tradition designed to introduce participants to one of the region’s most scenic stretches of river while promoting stewardship of its natural resources.

The outing is scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 2, covering a five-mile section of the Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River between Narrowsburg and Ten Mile River.

Through the council’s group rate, tickets cost $30 for adults and children ages 13 and older and $20 for children ages 4-12. A $1 processing fee applies to PayPal purchases.

Participants should park and check in between 9 and 10 a.m. at the Upper Delaware Council registration table at Lander’s Campground, 69 De Mauro Lane, Narrowsburg. Lander’s River Trips will provide rafts, paddling equipment, safety instruction and shuttle transportation back to the launch site. Rafts require a minimum of four occupants, and the trip typically lasts 2½ to 3 hours.

The nonprofit Upper Delaware Council organizes the event at cost each year to encourage appreciation and responsible use of the nationally protected river corridor through an accessible outdoor recreation experience.

Reservations and event information are available by calling 845-252-3022 or emailing stephanie@upperdelawarecouncil.org. Registration details and a downloadable flyer are also available on the Upper Delaware Council website at www.upperdelawarecouncil.org
