UNADILLA — Farmers will have an opportunity to see manure application equipment and precision agriculture technology in operation during a Precision Manure Field Day on Sept. 9 at Joleanna Holsteins.

The event will run from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at 309 Covered Bridge Road. Registration begins at 10 a.m. in the event tent.

The program will examine the value and variability of manure for corn and hay crops, including the use of injection systems and precision agriculture technology. A producer panel will discuss manure injection in stubble and sod one year after implementation.

The day will also include demonstrations of manure injection systems in corn stubble and sod, as well as two high-capacity, variable-rate-capable spreaders for semi-solid manure.

Safety will be another focus, with sessions on manure gases and confined spaces, along with manure truck safety training.

Lunch will feature a beef barbecue.

The cost is $10 per person. Reservations are required by Sept. 4.
