Reginald R. McClenon, 93, of Franklin, passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at home, surrounded by family.

He was born on April 27, 1931 in Walton, the son of Millard and Sena (Fritz) McClenon.

A veteran who served in the U.S. Marines, Reggie drove feed truck for Crawford, Purina, and Agway for many years. He also worked for the town of Franklin until his retirement at the age of 70.

He enjoyed hunting and working in his garden, loved to dance and listen to music, and had a very good sense of humor. You would often see him sitting on his porch, watching traffic go by and talking to the people who walked by.

He was a member of the Franklin Fire Department and Emergency Squad for 37 years.

He is survived by his daughters, Dorthea (Thea) and Sena of Franklin; his sons Donald of Sidney, and Mark; his grandchildren Reginald of Walton, Rosemary of Mount Morris, Jennifer of Berkshire, Josh of Sidney, Brianna of Whitebridge, Virginia, and Zachary and Iain of Colorado; eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by special friends Clay and Sonnet Constable and their family of Sidney Center.

He was predeceased by his wife Louise; his parents; brothers Herschel, Richard and Millard; sisters Betty, Eleanor and Theola; and two grandsons Logan and Mark.

A celebration of life took place Saturday, July, 13, at the Franklin Fire Department, 351 Main Street, Franklin.

Burial will take place at the convenience of the family in Ouleout Valley Cemetery, Franklin.
