Artist and educator Anne Gohorel will present a felting workshop at Headwaters Arts Center Saturday, Oct. 19, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at 66 Main Street, Stamford.Attendees will learn fundamental techniques of working with flat woolens to create decorative pieces which is somewhat like painting with wool. The $40 cost to register covers materials and fees. Space is limited; registration is open at www.roxburyartsgroup.org
Beginners or and those with some felting experience will have an opportunity to develop skills to create beautiful, handmade items. Bring a photo, painting or design for inspiration or just bring yourself and learn the magical process of turning simple wool into beautiful, textured pieces of art.
Gohorel, an artist, textile designer and educator with a passion for kids and color, attended Cooper Union and the Fashion Institute of Technology and has worked as an art teacher at South Kortright Central School. A lifelong baker and former owner of Bread Fellows Bakery, she is always making something.
