ROXBURY — Against the backdrop of sweeping mountain views and refined hospitality, the Roxbury Arts Group will host its annual benefit, Cocktails for Culture, on Saturday, June 14, at 7 p.m. at the Villa Sposa estate. The event promises a festive evening of music, fine food, and community support for the arts in the Western Catskills.
Guests will gather at the private Roxbury property, generously opened for the occasion by proprietors Mercedes and Aldo Gonzalez, to raise funds for the nonprofit’s year-round programs — concerts, gallery exhibits, artist grants, and school-based workshops — spanning Delaware, Otsego, Chenango, and Schoharie counties.
The evening will feature live music by Cuban Walt’s Blues and pianist Adam Ippolito, formerly of John Lennon’s band. Attendees will enjoy a menu of seasonal dishes and specialty cocktails, with fare ranging from shrimp ceviche on parmesan toast to vegan jambalaya and raspberry cream puffs. Food stations will offer interactive tastings and elegant small bites.
Founded in 1979, the Roxbury Arts Group has served as a cultural anchor in the region, providing arts access and creative development in even the most rural corners. “The warm hospitality and unwavering support from our friends at Villa Sposa is a reminder that championing the arts enriches our communities,” said Roxbury Arts Group Executive Director Jenny Rosenzweig.
Tickets for Cocktails for Culture are available at roxburyartsgroup.org or by calling 607-326-7908. Proceeds directly support programming across the nonprofit’s three venues in Roxbury, Stamford, and the Denver-Vega Valley.
