STAMFORD — Traditional art forms will take center stage this fall at the Headwaters Arts Center, where the Roxbury Arts Group will present an exhibition featuring work by 22 local and regional artists.

“Everybody’s Art” will run from Sept. 5 through Oct. 31 at the arts center, 66 Main St. An opening reception is scheduled for 4 to 6 p.m. Sept. 5. The event is free and open to the public.

The exhibition explores folk art through works that reflect cultural traditions, personal histories and contemporary life. The artists include both emerging and established makers working in traditional forms while adapting materials, techniques and themes to the present day.

Works include painting, textiles, sculpture, ceramics, assemblage and mixed-media installations.

Participating artists are Paul Joseph Adamo, Normandy Alden, Amanda Cheung, Nancy C. Connolly, Anne DeSimone, Elizabeth Dimon, Denise Giardullo, Anne Gohorel, Annie Hayes, Scott Keidong, Kaitlyn Lanza, Joanne Lentner, Renee Lewis Stanley, Jon McCormack, Mary McFerran, Janell O’Rourke, Donna Maria Ramirez, David Schaengold, Anne Smith, Barbara A. Smith, Chris Vollor and Siyan Wong.

The folk-art theme will continue through fall programming at Headwaters Arts Center, including Welcome Blanket Quilting with Megan Avery, a project supporting the Welcome Blanket initiative; Spoon Carving with Michael McCarthy; and the return of Rug Hooking with Annie Hayes.

The workshops offer community members opportunities to learn and practice traditional crafts while helping sustain those art forms.
