MARGARETVILLE - Culture, tradition, and community will all be celebrated at the Galli Curci theater in Margaretville on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 13 and 14 when Sacred Soil hosts a celebration of Mexican Independence. Armando Cuatianquiz and his team will kick off the festivities at 11 a.m. on Sept. 13.
Authentic Mexican food will be offered all weekend and will be available for eat-in dining or take-out convenience. A variety of drinks including ethnic specialties will be available. Live music will be on tap starting at 2 p.m. each day. The events runs from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. both days.
In addition to the food and music, the celebration will feature a small “Mexican Market” of popular items, some of which are carried at Sacred Soil and some of which are not. Noting it’s really just a great way to create a celebration, Cuatianquiz looks forward to creating as authentic experience as possible for people to share features of another culture.
