HOBART - On a late-summer afternoon when the Catskills are at their greenest, Hobart will once again become a gathering place for craft beer enthusiasts, food lovers and families as the annual Sausage & Brew Festival returns Aug. 22.
Now a fixture on the region’s summer calendar, the free festival will run from 1 to 7 p.m. at Hobart Town Park, drawing visitors from across New York and beyond for an event that celebrates local agriculture, craft brewing and community spirit.
Organized by the Hobart Rotary Club, the festival has grown into one of the area’s largest seasonal events, combining live entertainment, regional food vendors and New York-made beverages in a setting that highlights the rural character of the Catskills.
The centerpiece remains a lineup of locally sourced sausages and farm-fresh foods prepared by regional vendors. Complementing the menu will be a selection of New York craft beers and other beverages, reflecting the state’s growing prominence in the brewing industry.
Festival organizers also promise six hours of live music, along with local artisans, community organizations and family-friendly activities, including games, hayrides and open spaces for visitors to relax throughout the afternoon.
While food and entertainment attract the crowds, organizers say the event’s mission extends beyond recreation.
Proceeds from the festival support Rotary-sponsored community projects, including local service initiatives, scholarships and other programs that benefit residents throughout the region.
The festival’s blend of local food, music and charitable fundraising has helped establish it as a destination event for both residents and tourists seeking a summer day in the Catskills.
