Senator kicks off winter coat drive to warm up District 51

DELHI — New York Senator Peter Oberacker, representing the state’s 51st district which includes Delaware County, has launched his inaugural district-wide winter coat drive to help individuals and families stay warm this season.

“We’re giving back to make this festive season a little warmer to those who may be in need,” Oberacker said in a press release. issued Nov. 27.

New or gently used winter coats and jackets of all sizes are being collected to be distributed to families across the 51st senate district.

Where to Donate

In collaboration with Delaware Opportunities and supported by District Attorney Shawn Smith and Sheriff Craig DuMond, coats can be dropped off at the Delaware County Office Building, 111 Main St, Delhi, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The initiative also includes collection points in Otsego, Sullivan, and Schoharie Counties.
