Be sure to stop and check out the beautiful nature photo exhibit by Rick Bunting on display through Sept. 24.

Looking ahead to October our art exhibition, “Making Merit” by Roshan Houshmand will be on display. Join us for the opening reception of her solo exhibition, “Making Merit: Tibetan Buddhist Art Lecture, Drawing & Painting.” The reception will be held Saturday, Oct. 3, from 1-3 p.m. in The Smart Community Room.

Houshmand is an Iranian-American artist and educator whose multicultural background deeply informs her work. Born in the Philippines, she was raised there and in Iran until later moving to the United States. Her heritage blends the Dutch-American maternal and the Iranian paternal roots, and her art draws on ancient patterns, textures and spiritual traditions. In addition to this special art exhibit Houshmand will also have a two-part workshop. Contact the library for more information and to register for the workshop - call 607-563-1200. The exhibit will be displayed through Oct. 24.

The Sidney Memorial Public Library Board of Trustees will meet Tuesday, Sept. 8 at 4:30 p.m. The public is always welcome.

Book club will meet Tuesday, Oct. 13 at 11:30 a.m. to discuss the book “Calamity Club” by Kathryn Stockett.

We look forward to our fall lineup of events and programs for kids and adults of all ages at the Sidney Memorial Public Library. For more information check us out at www.sidneylibrary.org
