SIDNEY — The Sidney Central School District has announced its top academic honors for the graduating Class of 2025, naming Camille Bagley as valedictorian and Aidan Moodley as salutatorian. Both students are set to deliver commencement addresses during the district’s graduation ceremony on Saturday, June 28.

Valedictorian Camille Bagley

A scholar-athlete and musician, Bagley has earned a place on the superintendent’s list every quarter since seventh grade. Her academic résumé includes multiple awards for achievement and leadership, including the Clarkson University High School Achievement Award and the George H. Ball Community Achievement Award from Keuka College. She was also recognized as the Midstate Athletic Conference (MAC) scholar-athlete for girls winter track in her junior year.

Bagley’s contributions to the school community extend well beyond the classroom. She serves as vice president of the National Honor Society and treasurer for both the Class of 2025 and the Tri-M Music Honor Society. She participates in Interact and is a leadership fellow with the Sidney Central School District Alumni Association.

A skilled musician, Bagley plays euphonium and piano, performing with the school’s concert band, jazz ensemble, and the Sidney Community Band. She also participated in the Hartwick College Jazz Ensemble from grades 9 to 11.

Athletically, Bagley has been a five-year starter for the girls varsity soccer team and competes in both indoor and outdoor track and field. She holds the school record in the weight throw, won the Section IV Division II title in shot put, and claimed the MAC championship in discus as a junior.

Bagley, the daughter of Jeff and Brenda Bagley, plans to attend Quinnipiac University to study diagnostic medical sonography.

Salutatorian Aidan Moodley

Known for his academic excellence and wide-ranging extracurricular involvement, Aidan Moodley has distinguished himself as a scholar, athlete, musician, and student leader. He has consistently earned a spot on the superintendent’s list and received numerous academic honors, including the Rensselaer Medal, Clarkson Leadership Award, and the Bausch and Lomb Honorary Science Award. He also received Sidney’s 2025 Scholar Recognition Award and attended Boys’ State.

An accomplished saxophonist, Moodley has performed with the school band, chorus, jazz band, select choir, and multiple county and state-level ensembles. He participated in the Hartwick College Jazz Ensemble and has played with the Sidney Community Band for five years.

In athletics, Moodley has competed in cross country, indoor and outdoor track, volleyball, badminton, and table tennis. His leadership roles include serving as student council president, class president during his freshman and sophomore years, and vice president of the Tri-M Music Honor Society. He also serves as president of Interact and is a member of the National Honor Society.

Outside the classroom, Moodley completed research and published work through an internship with SUNY Oneonta’s Biological Field Station and contributed to Sidney’s Flood Monitoring Program and Science Olympiad. He also worked as a certified lifeguard during the summer.

Moodley, the son of Nathan and Audra Moodley, will attend Cornell University to major in environmental engineering.
