Sidney Rabies Vaccination Clinic Scheduled May 4

Posted

SIDNEY — Delaware County Public Health will host a free rabies vaccination clinic for dogs, cats and ferrets on Monday, May 4, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Sidney Fire Hall, 74 River Street.

Public Health officials encourage pet owners to pre-register in advance, noting that vaccination against rabies is required by law for both dogs and cats. Animals are eligible for their first vaccination at three months of age.

Residents are asked to bring prior vaccination records, which will help determine whether pets qualify for a three-year certificate. At the clinic, dogs must be leashed and under control, while cats and ferrets must be secured in carriers.

The clinic will operate strictly during advertised hours and a veterinarian will not be available before the scheduled start time.

Pet owners are responsible for cleaning up after their animals and may face fines if they fail to do so.

For assistance with registration or additional information, contact Delaware County Public Health at 607-832-5200.
