STAMFORD - Delaware County Public Health will hold a free rabies vaccination clinic for dogs, cats and ferrets from 5 to 7 p.m. Sept. 9 at the Stamford Fire Hall, 111 Main St.
Pre-registration is encouraged. Pet owners should bring previous vaccination records to determine whether an animal qualifies for three-year coverage.
Dogs must be leashed and under proper control, while cats and ferrets must be brought in carriers. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets.
New York law requires dogs and cats to be vaccinated against rabies. Cats and dogs can receive their first rabies vaccination at 3 months of age.
A veterinarian will be available only during the scheduled clinic hours.
