Saturday, July 23 - Casting Workshop for Skill Improvement “Getting Better at Getting Better.” Join Fly Fishing International (FFI) certified Gail and Paul Gallo in this workshop that will assess fundamental skills and provide instruction and drill for how to improve them.

Saturday, July 30 - Learning the Double Haul. Join FFI certified and Wulff School instructor Craig Buckbee in this is a class for fly fishers with a couple of seasons under their belts - for those able to throw a decent loop with consistency. Be honest with yourself; you have put the time in, worked on your basic foundational casting and now want to expand your skills.

Saturday, Aug. 13 Casting Workshop for Line Control “Be the Master of Your Line” Join the Gallos in this three hour workshop that will focus on the fundamental skills needed to control how the line is presented in a range of fishing situations, but especially in the Catskill streams.

Wednesdays - Youth Fly Fishing Classes August 3, 10, 17 and 24. Students will join Nick Rubicco at the Catskill Fly Fishing Center and Museum (CFFCM) for a three-hour youth fly fishing class on Wednesdays in August. This class is for beginners or those looking to improve their skill set and will include an hour of casting instruction on the lawn and pond, one hour break to discuss entomology, habitat, leaders, fly presentation, catch & release and etiquette and ethics and one and a half casting/fishing where the student applies what they have learned on the river.

Sept. 3 - 4 Creel Building Workshop Spend two days making your own functional creel while learning the ins and outs of willow weaving with Jes Clark of Willow Vale Farm. Using traditional weaving techniques, build a creel from the base up, including a woven lid leather strap and a leather and brass buckle for the closure. Basket weaving experience is beneficial but not mandatory for this class.

Sunday, Sept. 25 Single Hand Spey Class Join FFI certified and Wulff School instructor Craig Buckbee and take your casting into the third dimension and fish places that you would normally avoid, using standard trout gear and applying Single hand Spey techniques. Look good and feel confident doing so. This is an intensive class in single hand Spey casting, covering the Switch, Double Spey and Snap-T casts - their nomenclature, mechanics and uses. Being a mid-level caster, able to perform a useful roll cast is a prerequisite to attend.
