Support the Next Generation of Farmers at the 4-H Livestock Auction

The Delaware County Fair’s 4-H Livestock Auction offers visitors a chance to support local youth while bringing home high-quality, locally raised meat.

On Saturday, Aug. 22 at 2 p.m., Delaware County 4-H members will bring their project animals into the livestock show ring for the annual auction. The event showcases months of hard work, dedication and learning as young exhibitors present the animals they have raised and cared for throughout the year.

Purchasing an animal can be a great way to support 4-H while also filling a family freezer. Buyers can choose to split purchases into halves, quarters or thirds with family or friends to make the cost more manageable.

Shippers will be available to transport purchased animals to the buyer’s preferred processor.

Proceeds from the sale help 4-H members continue their projects and often go toward future animal expenses, school supplies and other educational needs.

By participating in the 4-H Livestock Auction, fairgoers are not only purchasing quality products - they are investing in the young farmers, leaders and community members who represent the future of Delaware County agriculture.
