Tina Gail Seymour Birdsall (75) passed away peacefully on August 6, 2026, surrounded by the family she loved so deeply.

Born to the late Alton and Theris Seymour of Walton, New York, Tina was the youngest of six children, growing up alongside three brothers and two sisters. Family remained an important part of her life, and she carried with her a lifetime of stories, laughter, and memories shared with those who knew her longest.

For more than 44 years, Tina shared her life with her husband, Dale Birdsall. Together, they raised three daughters and built a family that became the center of Tina’s world. Being a mother was one of her greatest joys. She raised her girls to be strong and independent, while making sure there was plenty of laughter and fun along the way. She was also a beloved grandmother whose grandchildren brought her immeasurable joy.

Tina retired from US Airways before beginning a career in teaching. She touched countless lives during her years at Gretna Elementary School and was a loved and respected teacher whose impact reached far beyond her classroom. Her students will remember the care she gave, the lessons she taught, and the way she made them feel.

The last several years of Tina’s life brought illness, treatments, hospital stays, setbacks, and uncertainty, all of which she faced with remarkable strength. But her illness was never the most important thing about her, and it will never define her life.

Her life was family. It was laughter. It was three daughters who knew without question how deeply their mother loved them, grandchildren who adored her, more than four decades beside the man she chose to build a life with, and generations of students who knew her as Mrs. Birdsall.

Tina made it clear that she did not want those she loved to spend their time crying over her. Her family intends to honor that request by celebrating the people she loved, the lives she touched, the laughter she gave, the memories she made, and a life very well lived.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the American Cancer Society in her memory.

Memorial services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Dennis Tucker. Colbert-Moran Funeral Home, Gretna, is assisting the family. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.colbertmoran.com/obituary/tina-birdsall
