UNADILLA — At the Unadilla Public Library, Saturdays this April are being shaped as much by conversation and craft as by books on the shelves.
The month begins April 11 at 11 a.m. with a “Sit-n-Stitch” gathering, an informal session where knitters and crocheters — from beginners to experienced hands — are invited to work alongside one another. A volunteer instructor, Gloria C., will be on hand to guide newcomers, with yarn and needles available for those just starting out.
The following week, on April 18 at 11 a.m., the library will host a family-oriented Game Day organized by Dorene Ireland in partnership with the Family Resource Network. The event, free to attend, will include snacks and activities for all ages. Participants will also receive a $5 gift card to Village Variety.
The month concludes April 25 with a book sale running from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., offering a wide selection of adult fiction and nonfiction, children’s titles, DVDs and CDs at modest prices. Organizers said the sale is intended to make reading materials accessible while supporting the library’s ongoing programming.
Taken together, the events reflect a broader effort to position the library not only as a place for books, but as a gathering space for the village itself.
The library is located at 193 Main Street, Unadilla.
