DELHI - Delaware Academy played its first night game at Dave Kelly Field on Friday, inaugurating new lights and a rebuilt playing surface with a 56–13 win over Burke Catholic.

Before kickoff, Superintendent Carey Shultz, Board of Education President Tammy Neumann and Athletic Coordinator Kyle Murray recognized Sean and Chris Clark for their family’s donation of the field and their companies’ work on the project, along with Eric Robert and Jason Yando of Schoolhouse Construction Management. Chris Clark handled the ceremonial coin toss.

The new field and surrounding track are part of a voter-approved capital program now in use for physical education, soccer, football and cross-country. Additional upgrades include a new soccer/softball field; paving of parking lots and the elementary access road; an agriculture and technology lab; improved heating, air-handling and air-quality controls; enhanced safety and security systems; energy-efficient lighting throughout the school; and new lighting and sound for the high school auditorium. Further building and infrastructure work is nearing completion. More information is available on the district’s website www.delhischools.org
