Aaron Wilson, a longtime member of Bassett Healthcare Network, has been appointed medical director of the Emergency Department at O’Connor Hospital. Wilson, a Doctor of Nursing Practice and certified family nurse practitioner, steps into the leadership role after more than 15 years of service within the network.
Wilson began his healthcare career in 2008 as a technician in O’Connor Hospital’s emergency unit. After earning his nursing degree in 2010, he spent several years in the Special Care Unit at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown before returning to O’Connor Hospital as an emergency nurse. In 2020, he completed his doctorate in nursing and has since served as a practitioner in the emergency department.
A resident of the Delhi area, Wilson is known for his community-focused approach and commitment to developing a skilled, self-reliant emergency care team.
O’Connor Hospital’s Emergency Department has earned national recognition for efficiency and short wait times, including a Women’s Choice Award. In 2024, it recorded 6,353 emergency visits—its highest on record. The department operates around the clock and is part of a hospital that also provides acute inpatient care, an outpatient pharmacy, and a restorative swing bed program for patients requiring extended therapy before returning home.
O’Connor Hospital, located at 460 Andes Road, continues to serve as a critical access facility in an area with limited healthcare options. More information is available by calling 607-746-0300
