This year, the Walton Chamber of Commerce is looking for families to paint business windows with a Christmas theme so we need volunteers of both painters and businesses. If you would like to do either email me or message me on the Chamber Facebook page with the event flyer. The Chamber will provide the paint, but painters will need to bring containers, brushes, etc. Paint can be picked up at Packin’ Heat between Nov. 22 and Nov. 30. We would love the windows to be done by the Friday night parade.
The Walton Chamber of Commerce is also looking for businesses to participate in a sidewalk sale for parade night, so that folks can shop before and after the parade. If you have a home based business, see if any downtown business will let you set up by them.
There is so much unfathomable devastation in North Carolina and Georgia from Hurricane Helene, and plenty of damage to Florida, Tennessee and Virginia, too. Many people are hurting and mourning, but neighbors and first responders from all over the country are helping them work through the damage and rescue people still isolated. The Walton Explorers packed donations and sent a truck down with supplies and Jessica Gilmore, Thayers and Netty’s Flowers are also collecting items locally to send if people want to drop off there. I see current posts are asking for colder weather items like coats, blankets, and, socks are always needed.
And keep Florida in your prayers because another cat 4 storm is headed their way.
