Walton Central School starts superintendent search

Posted

The Walton Central School District (WCS) has started the search process for its next superintendent of schools.

WCS Superintendent Dr. Michael MacDonald announced in July that he would retire at the end of the 2024-25 school year.

The board of education has named DCMO BOCES District Superintendent Michael Rullo as its consultant for the search. The position has already been advertised throughout the state in various places.

As part of the process, the Walton school district asks district residents, students, and district employees to complete an initial survey which can be accessed at: forms.gle/6tVXFp3wAWQrPPF76

The WCS Board of Education and Rullo will work through initial applicants.

When finalists are selected, there will be a community forum to meet the candidates.

The BOE will have updates throughout the search via its webpage - www.waltoncsd.org/page/board-of-education
