The West Kortright Center will host Colombian singer-songwriter Isabel Ramírez, known by her stage name La Muchacha, for an intimate concert Saturday, June 21. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., the performance begins at 7.
Ramírez, whose work blends traditional acoustic guitar with folkloric rhythms and unflinching political commentary, has emerged as one of Colombia’s most provocative musical voices. Her lyrics, steeped in outrage and resistance, address the country’s entrenched social and political inequities — topics many artists avoid. Her latest album, More Raw Songs, continues that trajectory, channeling personal frustration into public testimony.
What began as a solo project has evolved into a fuller sound. For this performance, Ramírez will be joined by her band, El Propio Junte, marking one of the ensemble’s few appearances in the United States.
Tickets are $20 in advance, with discounts for West Kortright Center members and children under 12. Seating is limited. For tickets and updated event details, visit westkc.org or call 607-278-5454.
