The Catskill Valley Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Andrew Pease and Amy Hoxie, will present their ”Beat the Blahs” pops concert Sunday, Jan. 28, at 3 p.m. in the Foothills Performing Arts and Civic Center, Oneonta. The event is free and open to the public, with donations gratefully accepted and seating on a first-come, first-served basis.
Highlighted will be The Rolling Stones on Tour, Moon River, The Peanut Vendor, Just a Closer Walk With Thee, The Queen of Soul, Barnum and Bailey’s Favorite, When You Wish Upon A Star, Lost Lady Found, Selections from Phantom Of the Opera and Tutued Toucan Can-Can.
Pease is director of instrumental music at Hartwick College. Hoxie is the elementary band teacher at Sherburne-Earlville Elementary School. Both are also trumpet players who play with the Ensemble and have performed widely.
