The Open Eye Theater in Margaretville needs three non-equity actors to join the cast of Summer Shortcuts XIV, a program of eight 10-minute plays performing Aug. 18-28.
For Get The Message by Coni Koepfinger, Directed by Ron Nash: Diana Dorn, a talented, unemployed actress, 30s-40s, single but searching. She’s been having trouble with her cell phone and is concerned that she could be missing messages; a not-so-happy customer, she’s ready to trade it in.
For The Name Game by Hank Kimmel, directed by Tim Main: Male, 20s-60s for three-hander play set at a suburban Christmas party where no one remembers anyone else’s name. Actor to play three small roles (one with a single line) without costume change. Excellent opportunity to showcase skill of transforming from one character to another.
For The Sensational Sisters by John Mabey, directed by Tim Main: This is a play about two retired superhero sisters struggling with retirement. The role is Dominique, 50s+, the sister with the power of invisibility.
Actors are paid. Rehearsals are scheduled to begin in late July.
