Andes Jan. 28 square dance to benefit Andes CS music department

ANDES - There will be a a square dance at the Andes Hotel, Jan. 28 from 3:30 - 7 p.m., which a family sing-a-long from 2 - 3 p.m. An introduction workshop will be held from 3:30 - 4 p.m. to walk you through the basics and the caller will tell you what to do throughout the dances, which are fun for all ages. You don’t need to come with a partner and watchers/listeners are also welcome. Everyone is invited; come and dance or just listen to traditional old-time Appalachian fiddle music.

Catskills Old-time Music in the Mountains is a community organization which shares Appalachian string-band music and dance. This event will raise money for the Andes Central School music department.

Becca Wintle, an Andes resident, will play fiddle, and bring together another great line-up of musicians, with Michelle Delco from Ithaca calling the dances. Entry fee will be a suggested donation of $10-20.
