Artist talk at Hunting Tavern Oct. 28

Annie Hayes is the recipient of a New York State Council on the Arts Artist Support grant sponsored by the West Kortright Center. Hayes will give a presentation about “The Maintenance Project” which explores the visual aspects of the activity of repairing equipment farmers perform to keep their machinery working and their farms producing Saturday, Oct. 28 at 1 p.m. at Hunting Tavern Museum, 288 Main Street, Andes.

Based on images found in farm machinery manuals from the 1940s and 50s used by farmers of that era, she is making a series of drawings and a short film that reflect both her work as a visual artist and a way of seeing the very similar work of farmers.

This is a free event. Call 607-278-5454 or email info@westkc.org with questions.
