The Delaware Opportunities Big Buddy Program is a mentoring program for at-risk youth in Delaware and Otsego counties. The program offers the opportunity for children to have one-on-one relationships with Big Buddy volunteers.
Little Buddies are children between the ages of five and 14. Big Buddy volunteers are at least 18 years old.
The Big Buddy Program is designed to provide positive role models in the lives of children. The adults serves as a friends and mentors and generally spend four to eight hours per month with their Little Buddies. What activities they do together is mutually agreed upon. Group activities may include community service, educational, recreational or cultural experiences.
