In the latest in a series of genealogical workshops conducted by The Delaware County Historical Association Archivist Ray LaFever, DCHA will present “Caring For Your Family Heirlooms and Papers” Saturday, Oct. 14 at 1 p.m. The workshop will be held at DCHA, state Route 10 north, Delhi.

Learn how to save papers and objects from your family’s history, ensuring that family letters, diaries and other written materials are around for future generations.

How to deal with family heirlooms? These can be just about anything, including clothing, toys, medals and trophies, or any other object.

As well as an experienced amateur genealogist, Ray has been a professional archivist since graduating from SUNY Albany in 1985. After spending five years working for local governments in Albany and Dutchess counties, he spent 20 years working for the New York State Archives, providing advisory services on archives and records management to local governments and local historical societies.

Cost: $10 per person. Registration required by Oct. 12. Call 607-746-3849 or email dchadelhi@gmail.com to register.
