Christina R. Jones, a creative soul and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2024 surrounded by family and friends. She was born on Oct. 1, 1972, in Hancock. Christina faced life with remarkable strength and courage, but sadly, she succumbed to the challenges posed by Stage IV colon cancer with liver metastasis after a brave fight. Throughout her journey, she demonstrated resilience and grace, inspiring all who knew her.

Despite the physical toll of her illness, Christina’s spirit remained undaunted. She continued to share her laughter, creativity, and love with those around her, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of family, friends, and colleagues alike.

Christina was not only a compassionate healthcare professional (as a Registered Nurse for 11 years; and a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner for 30 years) but also a dedicated Independent Certified Optavia Coach. With passion and enthusiasm, she built a successful business helping others achieve optimal health. Her commitment to guiding individuals on their wellness journeys touched the lives of many, and she leaves behind a legacy of transformed lives and grateful clients. Her genuine care for others and her belief in the power of health and wellness made her a beacon of inspiration to those around her. Her mantras were “we rise by lifting others” and “I was given this mountain to move to show others it can be done.”

Christina’s dedication to both healthcare and wellness coaching showcased her multifaceted and caring nature. Christina loved her coworkers deeply and found immense joy in the camaraderie of her workplace. Her positive energy, vibrant and contagious laugh, and enthusiasm for her career created a workplace environment filled with inspiration and teamwork. She was fortunate to have had an amazing career that spanned various roles within the healthcare industry. Christina’s commitment to her profession went beyond duty; she truly enjoyed every aspect of her work and her journey was marked by dedication, expertise, and a genuine passion for making a positive impact on the lives of others.

Christina was also a remarkably creative soul. Her love for art knew no bounds, and she poured her heart into various forms of artistic expression. She had a special affinity for painting, capturing the beauty of the world around her. Wood burning was another craft she mastered, creating intricate designs that told stories of her imagination. Her wire-wrapped jewelry pieces were wearable works of art as well as ornamental art displays that showcased her talent and attention to detail.

Family was paramount to Christina, and her legacy lives on through her spouse, Steven Eschweiler, her son, Adam Jones (Kelley Miller), and stepchildren Jonathan, Leandra, and Benjamin. Christina had a profound love for animals and was a proud pet parent to her dog Nash Star Yowling Bear Fierce Dragon Moose Eschweiler, who was not just a pet, but a beloved member of her family. Her guinea pig, Miss Piggy, also held a special place in her heart, providing companionship and joy in the quiet moments. Her beloved guinea pig, Olivia, predeceased her, leaving behind fond memories of their time together.

Calling hours will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, June 22, at the MacArthur Funeral Home, 134 Main Street, Delhi. Friends, family, and well-wishers are invited to pay their respects and share memories during this time. A memorial service will immediately follow at 3. Family and friends are invited to gather and share stories, memories, and tributes in her honor.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

May Christina R. Jones’s compassionate spirit, entrepreneurial drive, and creative legacy continue to inspire, and may the memories of her dedicated service bring comfort to those who mourn her passing.
