Dawn M. (Kirwan) Ventura, aged 63 of Delhi, died Saturday, May 18, 2024 at home after a long, courageous battle with cancer.

Dawn was born Dec 9, 1960, in White Plains, to John “Jack” and Esther (Jorgensen) Kirwan.

Dawn was a devout member of the Jehovah’s Witness community since her teens. She enjoyed and put her heart into helping others know about God and the promises in His Word. She worked at a variety jobs but most recently worked as a massage therapist doing foot reflexology. This gave her much joy, providing healthful therapy and relaxation to her clients, many of whom were her close friends.

Dawn dealt with a variety of health problems during her life, but always tried hard to do her utmost to help others despite her limitations. Can we imagine what she’ll be doing to show her love and care for us when her God blesses her with perfect health and youthful energy?

Dawn will be sorely missed - her compassionate, generous, positive and straightforward personality endeared her to us all.

Dawn and her family were so thankful for the skillful assistance and compassionate care shown her by her Bassett oncology team, the Helios Care Hospice team, her aides Gillian and Sherry and the other practitioners who helped her so much.

Dawn is survived her husband Cory Ventura of Delhi, three brothers, Jeffrey Kirwan (and Carol Ann Meaney) of Climax, Jason (and Linda) Kirwan of Chuckey,  Tennessee, and Jamie Kirwan of Coxsackie; two sisters, Donna Kirwan of Coxsackie and Diane Kirwan (and Walter Bertrand Jr.) of Coxsackie; sister-in-law Lee Kirwan of Coxsackie and many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Dawn was predeceased by her father “Jack” and older brother “Jackie.”
