DVH’s Victoria Conkling retires, celebrating a 44 year career

Victoria Conkling, BSN, RN, VP of Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer, officially retired Friday, May 25 after a 44-year career at UHS Delaware Valley Hospital (DVH).

Conkling was hired as an RN on May 19, 1980.Throughout the 90s, she was promoted to nurse manager, then department manager, and eventually Aassistant cie president of nursing in 2001. In 2006, as DVH added additional services, she was named vice president of nursing and chief nursing officer and in 2013 – vice president of patient care services.

“Regardless of her title, Vicki has always been a nurse’s nurse,” said Boomer Bojo, president and CEO of DVH. “She always took the time to teach other nurses, like she did to me when I began my nursing career at DVH in the early 90s.”

Staff and leaders joined Conkling and her family at the Schoolhouse Inn & Restaurant in Downsville on May 3 to celebrate her remarkable career.

“I’ve had a long and rewarding career at DVH,” Conkling said. “I want to thank all my colleagues for being a part of my DVH family. DVH will continue to thrive with all of you providing the very best for our patients and this community.”

DVH thanks Conkling for her many years of service and for the countless lives she has touched.
