Fundraiser for Stamford fire victims Dec. 9

Posted

There will be a benefit Saturday, Dec. 9 at The Gallery, 128 Main Street, Stamford, with 100% of the proceeds going to those displaced by the multi-structure fire that took place Friday, Dec. 1.

Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and from 6 to 7 p.m., The Community Music Network founder and director Pamela West-Finkle (Miss Pam) will lead a community holiday sing-a-long, with the regularly scheduled open mic to follow at 7 p.m.. All ages are welcome to attend or to perform.

Those wishing to attend are asked to bring a snack or dish to pass potluck-style and monetary donations for the Stamford fire victims. Cash, checks, Venmo, PayPal, and credit cards will be accepted.

The open mics at the Gallery are a long-standing tradition in Stamford and are dedicated to artist Timothy Touhey who passed away in 2019. In 2021, The Community Music Network received funding from The Robinson Broadhurst Foundation and the A. Lindsay and Olive B. O’Connor Foundations to make the open mics part of its grant funded community music offerings in Stamford.

West-Finkle reports that this is only one of several benefits being planned for those affected by the fire.
