Glimpses of Our Landscape – Black and White and Color, Nov. 2

The Roxbury Arts Group announces “Glimpses of Our Landscape – Black and White and Color,” featuring work by Amy Silberkleit and Natalie Wargin. The stark intricacies of Amy Silberkleit’s lithograph prints and the fantastical elements of Natalie Wargin’s paintings explore the magic and wonder of the forest. The show will be on display in the Roxbury Arts Group’s Walter Meade Gallery Nov. 2 – Jan. 11, 2025.

Silberkleit is an artist in the Northern Catskills. Her work is based on the forests, mountains, roads, trails and natural objects found near her home. The extraordinary beauty of the region, the variety of plants, forms and textures, the dramatic changes from season to season are an inexhaustible source of subjects for her work. She draws detailed landscapes on limestone blocks and hand-prints limited editions in her lithography studio. The tonal range made possible by the lithography stone’s fine texture lends itself perfectly to highly detailed representational drawings.

Wargin is a nature and landscape painter based in Cottekill. Her paintings are narratives, each telling a story of the Hudson Valley landscape, focusing especially on the birds and animals that cross her path daily and the sense of inclusiveness in wild nature that these encounters create.

The artist reception takes place Saturday, Nov. 2 at 4 p.m. at the Roxbury Arts Center, 5025 Vega Mountain Road, Roxbury. It is free and open to all. Light refreshments will be available.
