The Otsego County Pomona Grange held a meeting on Saturday, June 8 at the Harpersfield United Methodist Church hosted by Colonel Harper Grange where a pumpkin bread contest was held. Winner of the contest was Sue Drake of Pierstown Grange; second placed went to Anna Ritchey of Butternut Valley and third place Sandra Tabor Hunkins of Westville Grange. The guest speaker was Farm-to-School Coordinator Hanna Rion with the Food and Health Network. This program helps students gain access to healthy local food as well as educational opportunities such as school gardens, cooking lessons, the NY Thursday and more. Norman Ritchey of Butternut Valley Grange was elected to a three year term on the executive committee. Delegates were selected to attend NYS Grange annual session in October. Delegate-at-Large Barton Snedaker and Alternate Delegate Calvin Wilcox, both of Butternut Valley Grange, will attend annual session in October.
