“Audio Arts & Podcasting for Creatives,” a two-part workshop led by multimedia artist and community organizer Christina Hunt Wood, is offered by the Roxbury Arts Group at its Headwaters Arts Center, 66 Main Street, Stamford, Wednesday, Oct. 18 and Monday, Oct. 23 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. both nights.

Participants will explore the diverse podcasting landscape, be introduced to recording equipment and editing software, learn about best practices for audio recording, and develop storytelling techniques. Additionally, participants will produce a short sound piece as part of the workshop.

Hunt Wood is a current Creatives Rebuild New York (CRNY) AEP Fellow working in collaboration with Roxbury Arts Group on The Living Archive Project, a multidisciplinary project that aims to enrich and rethink rural tradition through an inclusive representation of the histories of people living in the Northern Catskills using a range of storytelling practices. Hunt Wood is also the producer of “From Here,” a podcast highlighting the lives of local people from historically underrepresented communities, and is a member of Bushel Collective.

Participants completing this workshop series will receive a Tascam DR-07X Stereo Handheld Digital Audio Recorder with USB Audio Interface w/Accessories Bundle so that they can continue their creative podcasting and audio arts pursuits. Bundles are available in a limited capacity; early registration is encouraged.

The registration fee for this workshop series is $25 which is refunded upon completion of both days. Only persons completing both days will receive the Audio Recorder Bundle. Participants must bring their own laptop or tablet with the free Audacity audio editing software downloaded before the first class.
