Cornell Cooperative Extension and the Watershed Agricultural Council will host a pasture walk Saturday, Oct. 22 at Roxbury Mountain Maple, 2695 Roses Brook Road, Hobart. The event will begin at 12:30 p.m. with a lunch of hamburgers made with Holscher beef; at 1 p.m, the pasture walk will begin.
Topics covered will be shared management between landowner and beef farmer; how the change in management in 2022 resulted in increased forage quantity;
discussion on how the summer drought was dealt with; and how they utilized managed bale grazing to improve a poor producing paddock.
There is no cost to attend.
