Walton Theatre, 30 Gardiner Place, Walton will again be one of 500 venues around the world hosting The Manhattan Short Film Festival.

The films this year have been selected from more than 1000 entries from the U.S., Australia, Afghanistan, Finland, Iran, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and Canada.

At the conclusion of the approximate two hour showing, which includes an intermission, audience members are asked to vote for their favorite film and actor by supplied ballot.

Walton Theatre will post the local results on the Walton Theatre website and results will also be sent to festival headquarters where they will be added to the votes from all other venues to determine the winners.

This year, there will be three opportunities to view the festival films: Thursday, Sept. 28 at 2 p.m. or 7 p.m., and Saturday, Sept. 30 at 7 p.m. The theme for this year’s festival films is “How we face adversity, whether imposed by others or arising from personal circumstances.”

The Walton Theatre has been serving as a venue for the festival for about seven years. Some films are humorous, some dramatic, but always inspirational. The number of people who come back year after year keeps growing with the frequent comment, “I wouldn’t miss it!”.

So settle into a seat with your popcorn, watch the Oscar eligible short films and then...you be the judge and cast your vote for best film and actor.
