SIDNEY - Sidney Rotary Club held “Pass the Gavel” night on June 30 at the Sidney American Legion. Twenty-one Rotarians and 14 guests attended the event at the American Legion. Master of cermony duties were performed by former present and district governor David Reynolds.
Several awards were presented including: Paul Harris Fellow Recognition Award to Spencer and Judy Gridley; the Vocational Excellence Service Award to Fay Parsons who works at the Sidney Central Elementary School and was formerly manager at Bob’s Diner in Bainbridge.
Rotarian of the Year for 2021-22 was presented to William Roche. Due to COVID-19 restrictions in the past two years, the award were also presented to Linda Fulghum and Corbin Curley.
Major milestone member anniversaries in the club were presented to: Spencer Gridley for 20 years, Anna Ritchey for 30 years and Whit Whitaker for 50 years.
Past presidential plaques were presented to Larry Halbert for 2020 year and Corbin Curley for 2021.
Sue Koza received the gavel as new president, presented by David Reynolds.
