One dead in Stamford MVA

The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office issued a press release May 17 announcing a fatality resulting from a May 14 motor vehicle crash in Stamford.

Delaware County 911 received a report of a one car motor vehicle accident on state Route 23 in the Stamford at approximately 11:31 p.m., police said, and upon arrival at the scene, confirmed four occupants of the motor vehicle,

Vehicle occupants were identified as Kayla Gonsalves, 17, of Delhi, Alexis Lotterman, 20 of Walton, Isaiha Caballero, 25, of New York City and Nyheim Golden-Williams, 25, of Binghamton.

Gonsalves and Lotterman were transported to to Cooperstown for minor injuries and Caballero was transported to A.O. Fox Hospital for a possible neck injury. Golden-Williams was pronounced deceased at the scene by a Delaware County Medical Examiner.

Assisting at the scene were Headwaters EMS, Stamford Fire Department and EMS, Delaware County Ambulance, AMR, New York State Department of Transportation and New York State Police. 

This investigation is ongoing.
