Save the date: Bramley Mountain fire tower fundraiser Nov. 8

Posted

The Friends of Bramley Mountain Fire Tower invite all interested in supporting the project to a gourmet dinner Wednesday, Nov. 8 at EIGHTYMAIN, Delhi, to celebrate the recently established partnership with Delaware County and to kickoff the final fundraising campaign. Over 80% of the funding needed to rebuild the tower has been raised, and group members are confident that fundraising can be closed by the end of this calendar year so the tower can be constructed next summer.

The Bramley Mountain Fire Tower served the community from 1950 to 1970. It was removed in 1975 and purchased by Pete Clark, a Delhi farmer who stored it in a barn. The Clark family has donated the tower through a 99-year, $1 lease. Returning the historic Bramley Mountain Fire Tower to its home on the summit of Bramley Mountain will provide the region with an invaluable economic, educational, cultural and recreational asset.

At the dinner, a brief update on the continuing progress of fundraising, permits and construction plans will be given. A substantial portion of the dinner ticket price will be going to the fire tower.

More details will come soon but be sure to save the date
