Summer 2024: Adventure Begins at Cannon Free Library

Posted

The Cannon Free Library’s annual six-week summer reading program begins Tuesday, July 2. Celebrate summer - celebrate reading, community and the environment by attending the Story Laurie presentation at 10:30 a.m. Bring a packed lunch and plan to join friends on the library lawn for a post-program picnic.

Wednesdays will be creativity days, with near-weekly 3 p.m. Crafternoons. On Wednesday, July 3, kids can paint a mini acrylic masterpiece on canvas to show off on a mini wooden easel.

The library will be closed on Thursday, July 4.

On Friday, July 5, drop in for a 3 p.m. Campout Bingo session and some blanket-fort making.

The following five weeks of summer reading promise more fun programs and events, with guest visitors like juggler Nate the Great, author/illustrator David Covell, the Utica Zoo Mobile, and Digeridoo, fun things to do (fairy houses, quilling, learn-to-crochet and more.)

Stop in at the library to pick up a calendar of events and to sign up to be a summer reader and start earning some reading incentives.
