Tammy Sue Jamieson was born in Hancock on Sept. 21, 1958, to Joyce and Gerald Swartwout. She passed away on April 15, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. She graduated from Hancock Central School. Tammy and Ted Jamieson married in 1982, a union that would last for more than 40 years. They had two daughters. She worked as a home health aide and also was a personal care aide at both Hampshire House and Robynwood in Oneonta. Tammy was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Walton where she was a deacon, a member of the Women’s Association, taught Sunday school, and sang in the choir. She was involved in Girl Scouting all of her life, and was a lifetime member. She was a leader of many troops and was the service unit manager for a while. 

Tammy is survived by her husband Ted, daughters Rebecca Ferby (Jordan) of Rome, N.Y., and Sheila Jamieson (Charlie) of Brooklyn; siblings Terry (Al), Toby, Troy (Deborah), and Tracy (Ron), as well as in-laws Rex and Cheryl, Larry and Jody, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. 

She was predeceased by her father Gerald Swartwout, brother Tim Swartwout, brother-in-law Ken Esolen, niece Leah Swartwout, in-laws Georgia and Arthur Jamieson, and sister-in-law Patricia Rutherford. 

Friends and relatives are invited to call from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, April 19, at the United Presbyterian Church, 58 East Street, Walton, where services will be held Thursday afternoon at 1 p.m. with Pastor Paul Huh, officiating. Burial in Walton Cemetery will be held privately at the convenience of the family. 

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in her name to the United Presbyterian Church Women’s Association.
