The Open Eye Theater, Margaretville seeks non-equity actors for summer roles

MARGARETVILLE - Auditions will be held at The Open Eye Theater, 960 Main Street, Margaretville on Saturday June 22 and Sunday June 23, from 2 - 5 p.m., and will consist of reading a variety of scenes from the scripts. Rehearsals begin the week of July 22. Project Director for SUMMER SHORTCUTS XIV is Amie Brockway. Stage Directors are Frank Canavan, Garth Kravits, Marge Helenchild, Tim Main, Pip Merrick, Ron Nash, and Elizabeth Sherr. Stage Manager is Darlene DeMaille. All positions are paid.

SUMMER SHORTCUTS XIV, is a program of eight short plays to be performed two weekends, August 15-25, Thursday-Sunday. Needed are diverse performers, teens through senior adults of any ethnicity for these fresh new comedies and dramas of human endeavor. Some roles (but not all) require versatile characterizations, dialects (i. e. Southern US, British, Cockney), or excellent verbal skills. Actors at all levels of experience are encouraged. Those interested in working behind the scenes are also invited to attend.

Actors who wish to audition but cannot attend the scheduled dates and times may request an alternate audition arrangement.
