Bonnie L. VanLoan, 80, of Walton, went home to be with the Lord Friday, Oct. 14, 2022, at home surrounded by her loving family following a long battle with cancer.

Bonnie was born Dec. 29, 1941 in Walton, the daughter of the late Donald and Dorothy (Somers) VanLoan. She spent most of her days caring for her children, grandchildren and loved ones. Bonnie loved to spend time with her family; she especially enjoyed her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and her fur babies, rescue cats Cal and Sassy. Bonnie loved to go dancing and four wheeling, listening to music and baking delicious jelly cookies and apple dumplings. Her favorite time of year was Christmas; she decorated five trees every year.

She attended East Branch Community Church and Senior Dance Club in Sidney.

Bonnie is survived by her loving family, daughters, Cindy (Bob) Boecke of North Carolina, Tina (Bill) Picinich of Walton, Kim (Bill) Gregory of Walton; Teresa Holt of South Carolina; sons Bryan Mead of Walton, Kevin (Amy) Mead of Pennsylvania, Eric (Michelle) Mead of Texas, and Bobby (Rebekah) Doig of Walton; 18 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and two on the way; sisters Faye Anderson of Walton, Linda Whitaker of Walton, Sherrie Murphy and Bill Scully of Walton, brother Don (Francine) Van Loan of Georgia, several cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, son Jeffery Mead, brothers Ronald and Doug Van Loan, brother-in-laws Richard Whitaker and Sterling Murphy.

Friends and family were invited to call Tuesday, Oct. 18, at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend Street, Walton where services were held at 1 with Pastor Paul Cicio, officiating. Burial followed in Walton Cemetery.
