Gloria “Betty” Thomson, 83, of Spout Spring, Va., passed away Saturday, Oct. 15, 2022, following a long illness.
Betty was born Oct. 12, 1939 in Andes, the daughter of the late Ely and Olive (Bryden) Reynolds. On Jan. 22, 1956, she married Richard K. Thomson. He died on March 16, 2019. Betty worked along side Richard on a dairy farm for many years. Her last job was a bookkeeper for Dixon’s Towing Service in White Sulphur Springs, W.V. In her spare time she enjoyed bowling, Sudoku and Uno.
Betty is survived by her loving family, daughter Connie Toro and her husband Vladimir of Spout Springs, Va., sons Jeffrey Thomson of White Sulphur Springs, W.V., and Allan Thomson and wife Barbara of Spout Springs, Va.; grandchildren Richard (Rebecca), Jesse (Jamie), Shane (Kayla), Derrek, Payton (Shani), Matthew (Brittany), Ryan (Cara), Amber, Evan, and Tara; great-grandchildren Waylon, Randi, Darren, Emma, Angel, Aubrey, Maisyn, Tyler, Jaedyn, Tristen, Charlotte, Josephine, Lily, Wesley, Landon, Chase Aubrey, Liam, Scarlett, Heidi and Sterling; brother and sister Tink (Cathy) Reynolds of Walton and Barbara (Ron) Wormuth of Unadilla; sisters-in-law Patty (Robert) Hunt of Charleston, S.C. and Donna Thomson, Walton.
She was predeceased by her parents, son Randy Thomson, sister Patricia Stanton, and brother Martin Reynolds.
Family and friends are invited to call Friday, Oct. 21, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend Street, Walton where funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 22, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Larry Light, officiating. Burial will follow in the Walton Cemetery, 55 Fancher Avenue, Walton. Condolences to the family may be made at the Courtney Funeral Home website.
