Greta Marie Cutting of Homosassa, Fla., formerly of Masonville and Unadilla, passed away peacefully March 9 at her residence. She was born March 25, 1927 and was just shy of her 97th birthday.

Greta was predeceased by her parents, Dick and Eva Wagner, husband Donald Cutting, son John Paveglio, son-in-law Marlin Kisselstein, sister Sandra Frank and brother Norman “Sonny” Church.

She is survived by her daughter Karen (Gould) Kisselstein, son and daughter-in-law Louis (Tiny) and Maureen Paveglio and daughter-in-law Carole Paveglio; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren Lucas (Roselyn and Thoran) Williams, Curtis (Skylar, Ryland, Braxton and McKenzie) Williams, Kaylyn Paveglio, Carlo (CJ) Paveglio and Lee (Phoenix and Griffin) Gabriel. She also leaves her sisters Janette Hafele and Nancy VanPelt, brother and sister-in-law Dale and Barbara Wagner and sister-in-law Marie Church, along with numerous nieces and nephews who adored their Aunt Greta.

Greta was probably best known as the “lunch lady” at Masonville Elementary school for many years and as a janitor there in later years. She touched the lives of many children during her tenure there. She was a member of the Masonville Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary for many years, as well as the Masonville Eastern Star Chapter. Greta was the kind of person that you never heard complain and when faced with a dilemma her response was usually “whatever” or “no biggie” and later became “whatever will be, will be.” She never met a person she didn’t like and if you had the pleasure of knowing her, you loved her. Greta will be missed immensely, especially her sense of humor, her laugh, her big smile, and her caring manner.

The family will have a service and burial later this spring in New York.
