John Eric Edwards passed away July 6, 2024, at the age of 80. Born in Walton Aug. 21, 1943. He leaves behind his wife of 59 years, Betsy, three sons, Kenneth, Kevin, and Kristopher; daughter-in-law Patricia; granddaughter Misty; great-granddaughter Addison and brother, Bob.
After graduating from State University of New York, he spent most of his adult life designing, engineering, consulting and selling building components for which he received many top salesman awards. In the last eighteen years of his career he was CEO and president of XRS Incorporated.
Until he retired, he had been involved in JA, JCs, CSI and was a volunteer fireman where he achieved the rank of chief engineer and received a fireman of the year award. He enjoyed coaching Little League and soccer for his sons Kenneth and Kevin.
He got his greatest pleasure from helping others as there was little he couldn’t repair. He enjoyed working on projects with his son Kris, and was most proud of their restoration of a 1957 Chevy. He couldn’t play golf for beans but sure loved trying.
He had moved several times during his life for work requirements, but now he will be returned to the hills and town of his fond memories that he always considered home.
Services will be at a later date at the convenience of the family.
