Nancy Jeanne Green, 79, of Unadilla, passed away peacefully at home on March 3, 2024.

Nancy was born July 7, 1944 in Sidney, the daughter of the late Ralph and Dorothy Place. She grew up in Sidney Center where she raised her children and started her own hairdressing business. After her kids grew up, she moved her business to Sidney and retired a few years ago. She enjoyed spending time with her kids, grandkids and great-grandbabies, working outside in her gardens, and her coffee clutch at the Trackside Diner with friends. She also really adored her granddogs – Charlie and Max.

Nancy was fun, hardworking, and loving. She always looked beautiful, dressed to the nines, hair done up, wearing her bling. She will be greatly missed by her family and all that knew her.

Nancy is survived by her partner of 23 years, Bob Oliver; her children Barbara Green LaRose, Daniel and Jacqui Green, and Susan Green Crawford; and their father Robert Green, all of Unadilla; grandchildren Stefanie LaRose (Shaun Walker), Seth Green, Ethan Green, Trey Crawford (Keeana Speenburgh), Zakariah Green, Dawson Crawford, and Levi Green; great-grandchildren Georgie and Gracie Walker, and Bennett Crawford. She is also survived by son-in-law Steven Crawford, sister-in-law Phyllis Place, and several nieces, nephews, cousins  and close friends.

Nancy was predeceased by brothers Ralph Lloyd Place (Joan), Richard Place, and her sister, Carol Place.

The family would like to thank special friend Joann Schlafer, for her help and compassion over the last year.

Friends are invited to call from 3-5 p.m. Saturday, March 9, at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main Street, Sidney. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
